How to manually register the device with ThinkSmart Manager portal

Description

Describes the Manual Device Registration within the Add Device process of the ThinkSmart Manager portal (https://portal.thinksmart.lenovo.com).

Add Device

It is recommended to use the QR (mobile application), Activation Code or Windows Administrator Password process that are described at: How to add a device to the ThinkSmart Manager portal. If these Add Device processes are not possible, or if the processes are not successful, follow the Manual Device Registration process.

Scenarios that requires a Manual Device Registration process:

  • When using the Windows Administrator Password process, a Unable to claim the device error appears during Add Device, and troubleshooting steps were completed within "Unable to claim (claiming issue) during "Add Device".
  • The device is a ThinkSmart Edition Tiny M920q. The ThinkSmart Edition Tiny M920q only supports the Manual Device Registration process.

If unable to add a device, using Manual Device Registration process that is described below, contact Lenovo Support.
