Hardware and Application Settings
How to set up Lenovo Smart Clock?
- Take the Lenovo Smart Clock out of the box and plug in the power adapter on the back side.
- Download and install the Google Home app on your phone/tablet and sign in with your Google account.
- The app will show you a new Lenovo Smart Clock is nearby. Click to set it up.
- Follow the instructions inside the application until the setup is completed.
- Then you can start your conversation with “Hey Google”.
- The average setup time will take approximately 5 to 8 minutes.
Change accessibility settings
- Make sure your phone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your Smart Clock.
- Open the Google Home app.
- Tap Devices.
- Next to your Smart Clock’s name, tap More Settings.
- Under 'Device info', tap Accessibility.
- Choose which settings you want to turn on or off.
Does the Lenovo Smart Clock with the Google Assistant have a camera?
No. It has a touchscreen and is voice-activated.
How to open quick setting?
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen with a finger.
- Brightness: Swipe up, then change the brightness. To have your screen change brightness automatically, tap Brightness.
- Volume: Swipe up, then change the volume, or say "Turn it up" or "Turn it down".
- Silence notifications: Swipe up, then tap Do Not Disturb. You’ll see missed notifications on the Home screen.
- Note: Alarms and timers still work when Do Not Disturb is on.

How can I set up a ‘Routine’ ?
The Assistant on your Lenovo Smart Clock already has some pre-defined routines for you. Try 'Hey Google, Good morning' or 'Hey Google, Good night'.
To customize or create your own routines, visit the Settings panel of your Google Home app.

Can I set up the device without a smart phone or tablet?
Must set up clock via google home app which is installed on another mobile device (which can be connected with Wi-Fi).

Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB Connection
How to connect the device with Wi-Fi?
While connecting the device with ‘Google Home’ app installed on your mobile device, it will automatically be connected with the Wi-Fi, the same as the mobile device.
Why does the USB connector not work?
That port is provided as a device charging port. You can charge a mobile device with that port with the appropriate cable.
How to connect Smart Clock via Bluetooth?
You can say "Hey Google, please connect Bluetooth". Smart Clock will tell you the device name, then you can use your phone or tablet to find and connect it in the Bluetooth menu. Then you can use Smart Clock as Bluetooth speaker.
Can I still talk to my clock with no Wi-Fi?
No, it needs to be connected with Wi-Fi.

Interaction with Lenovo Smart Clock
How to control the device?
The device has the Google Assistant built in. Just say “Hey Google” or “Ok Google” to get started. For example, you can say: "Hey Google, play some music". It will play the song.
How far away can I speak to the Lenovo Smart Clock?
This depends on the volume of your voice, background noise, and volume settings. Your Lenovo Smart Clock should be able to hear you from across the room, which is estimated to be up to 8 meters distance.
Can the Lenovo Smart Clock be used by multiple users in the house?
Yes, it can. The Lenovo Smart Clock can be linked to up to 6 accounts via the Google Home app on Android or iOS. When you have set up Voice Match in the app, the Google Assistant on your Lenovo Smart Clock will be able to return customized answers to your queries based on your calendar, settings, preferences, and subscriptions.
How many talkback voices are available for the Lenovo Smart Clock?
Can the Lenovo Smart Clock connect or sync with my phone about my data?
Yes. To be specific, the Lenovo Smart Clock requires the Google Home application for set up (compatible with most Android® or iPhones®). The Google Home app will let you link your Lenovo Smart Clock with your Google account, and will also allow the Assistant to send you relevant information on your phone. For example, directions to a point of interest you have asked for.
Why is my Lenovo Smart Clock not responding to my voice?
Please check whether the mute button has been switched on or volume has been turned to minimum, or get closer to the Smart Clock. Please contact

Why is my Lenovo Smart Clock telling me “not sure how to help with that”?
Can I control the information I share with Google?
When you set up your Google Assistant, you will be asked whether you want to share your information with Google. These permission settings can be changed by you at any time in the Google Home app. Visit

Can’t see speaker or Smart Clock in the Google Home app?
Please try the following steps:
- Try to restart the device.
- Unplug your device.
- Plug it back in .
- Restart the Home app.
- Close the Home app.
- Open the Home app.
How to use the Smart Clock as the Bluetooth speaker?
Say “Hey Google, please connect Bluetooth”, then you can use your mobile device to connect the Smart Clock with Bluetooth. Open the Mobile Device Bluetooth, find the Smart Clock in the Bluetooth device list, and connect with it. To play music in phone or mobile device, set the sound output device to Lenovo Smart Clock. Note: The Smart Clock only can be used as a sound output device with a Bluetooth connection. It cannot link with another Bluetooth speaker.
Does the Lenovo Smart Clock have access to my Google services?
Yes. Google services supported by the Google Assistant include YouTube Music, Google Calendar, Google Maps, Google Express, Google Chromecast, Google Translate, and Google Search. Visit

Does it link to my shopping list?
Yes, your Google Assistant on the Smart Clock can add items to your Google Express shopping list with a simple voice command. You will be able to manage address and payment method in the Settings panel of the Google Home app.
Can I check my email with the Lenovo Smart Clock?
How can I provide feedback on my Google Assistant experience?
You can send feedback about any of your conversations with the Assistant or answers it provides by saying: “Hey Google, send feedback”. Sending feedback may include system logs and an option to share voice recordings.
Can the Lenovo Smart Clock with the Google Assistant be used by other people in my house?
Yes. It can be linked to up to six accounts via the Google Home app on Android or iOS. Once set up, it will be able to return customized answers to queries based on your calendars, settings, preferences, and subscriptions.
How to adjust the brightness of Lenovo Smart Clock?
Swipe up from the bottom of the screen with finger to enter quick setup menu.

Tap the brightness icon, then slide to adjust the brightness of the screen.
Can I stream doorbell videos on the Lenovo Smart Clock?
Yes, a few cameras are supported. The camera should be a Google authorized device (the camera should be connected under Google Home app).
How to customize clock face?
Press and hold on the home screen. Tap one of the optional clock faces.

Does it support Continued conversation function?
Continued conversation will soon be supported.
Can I use the physical volume key of mobile device to control Lenovo Smart Clock volume?
It depends on the mobile device system with the installed Google Home APP.
If it is an
Android system, support for both physical buttons of mobile device and software volume slider in APP is mandatory.
If it is
IOS system, software volume slider in APP is mandatory. Support for physical buttons is optional, but provides a better experience.

How to set the alarm?
- Method 1: Talk to the Lenovo Smart Clock. Say something like: “Hey Google, set an alarm for 8 a.m.”
- Method 2:
- Swipe left on the home screen, then tap Create an alarm.
- Set the time, then tap the alarm to choose any of the following options:
- Repeat: Choose the days of the week.
- Alarm tone: Choose a tone.
- Sunrise alarm: The Smart Clock gently brightens 30 minutes before you need to get up.
- Good morning routine: Wake up to the Assistant briefing you about the weather, your schedule, your commute, and the news.
- Tap Done.
How to set the alarm volume?


- Swipe left on the home screen, enter into alarm setting screen.
- Tap gear icon to enter setting screen.
- Swipe the volume bar to adjust the alarm volume.
Is the screen a touch screen?
Yes. You can tap on the screen to select titles or pause music, or swipe from the left edge to the right to go back, or swipe from the bottom edge up to access settings.
Can I switch off or lock the screen?
No. The Lenovo Smart Clock is designed to always be ready for you. It will show you time, weather, and so on. Its screen will fade to minimum brightness when the ambient light around the device is low.
Is the Lenovo Smart Clock designed to be portable?
No. The Lenovo Smart Clock is designed to be plugged in, and always be on, so the Google Assistant is always available to help when you need it with a simple “Hey Google” command. It also requires an always active Wi-Fi connection, and should be powered on.
What language does it support?
Can I stream videos on the Lenovo Smart Clock such as YouTube?
No. The Lenovo Smart Clock doesn’t support video streaming.
Can the Lenovo Smart Clock cast videos to other screens?
No. The Lenovo Smart Clock doesn’t support video streaming.
Can the Lenovo Smart Clock connect with other smart home devices or gadgets?
The Lenovo Smart Clock works with more than 30,000 smart home devices from more than 3,500 brands. It can control all gadgets featuring the “works with the Google Assistant” badge.
Is the service free?
Getting help from your Assistant on the Lenovo Smart Clock does not require a paid subscription to work. However, you will need to link your device to an active Google account. Some compatible services with the Google Assistant and the Lenovo Smart Clock do require a subscription (such as, some streaming music services). Find out all the compatible services at

Is Lenovo Smart Clock an Android tablet?
No. The Lenovo Smart Clock is not an Android tablet. It has the Google Assistant built in, which means you can ask it to do things with your voice as the primary input method. No need to open or close apps, or minimize windows.
Can I shut the microphone off when it is not in use?
Yes. There is a mute switch at the back side of the Lenovo Smart Clock.

Should I use it in landscape or portrait mode?
The Lenovo Smart Clock is designed to work in landscape mode.
If I have multiple Google Assistant products – Google Home, Google Home Mini or Max, can I use the Lenovo Smart Clock in the same house or room?
The experience with the Google Assistant on your Lenovo Smart Clock is the same as with other products that have the Google Assistant built in, like small speakers. As a result, they will operate together when connected to the same Google Account. Only the one that best detects your voice command based on proximity and mic sensitivity will respond to you.

How to resolve if setup freezes or can’t finish?
Try these steps one by one until the issue is resolved.
- Try to restart the device
- Unplug your device then wait 10 seconds.
- Plug it back in.
- Factory reset your device (only Smart Clock)
- With the device powered on, press down both the volume+ / volume- button for 10 seconds.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to set up your device.

No. The Lenovo Smart Clock is designed to always be on, so your Google Assistant is always available to help, wherever the Lenovo Smart Clock is in your home. It’s powered-on by the included power adapter.
How do I turn on/ turn off the Lenovo Smart Clock?
You can turn it on/off by plugging in/unplugging the power adapter. It takes up to 15 seconds to turn on after you plug it in.
If it’s always plugged in, how much electricity does it consume?
The Lenovo Smart Clock uses up to 2W when in use. When not in use, the power consumption is 0.5W, which is similar to a living room light.

How to clean the Device?
The Lenovo Smart Clock is not built to be exposed to large amounts of water or soapy substance. If you need to clean the device, please first ensure that it is no longer plugged in, then follow the below method. Do not submerge the device in water.

Can’t connect with Wi-Fi
Try these steps one by one until the issue is resolved.
- Make sure to link the device with the same Wi-Fi connection as the mobile device.
- Please check whether Wi-Fi works correctly by using another device to link with the same Wi-Fi.
- Try to reboot the device.
- Unplug your Smart Clock for 1 minute.
- Plug your Smart Clock back in.
- Then check it again.
- Reset the device (long press VOL+ and VOL- 10 seconds).
- Find your router’s manufacturer and model.
- Check with the manufacturer to find out if your router model has Smart Connect.
- If your router has Smart Connect, check with the manufacturer for steps on how to turn off Smart Connect.
- Then try it again.
