Symptom
My warranty is showing incorrect dates and duration? Why is this happening ?
If you had purchased your machine from a retailer, business partner, reseller, Lenovo starts the Base Warranty at the time the shipment was purchased by the retailer, business partner, or reseller from Lenovo. To compensate for the time the computer may have sat in a warehouse or on the shelf unsold, Lenovo generally adds an additional month to the Base Warranty, Lenovo allows date to be adjusted.
What is Base Warranty ?
Base warranty is the manufacturing warranty to protect the product once it leaves the factory.
Once you buy the product and re-register the product, Lenovo deactivates the base warranty, and activates the consumer warranty.
Once you buy the product, base warranty activates automatically on the SN after the product has been delivered, providing the level of service that comes with the machine.
