Description

Some laptops are equipped with Always on USB which supports charging devices via the USB port when the PC is off. This document includes two sections:

  • How to check if the system is equipped with Always on USB
  • How to enable Always on USB from BIOS

Solution

Confirm the system is configured with USB Always on port.

Check the system and look for the USB port as shown in the following image. Make sure the icons next to the USB port include the icon resembling a battery Find icon.

Enable Always on USB from BIOS

  1. Enter BIOS.
  2. Switch to the Configuration tab. Navigate to Always on USB -> select Enabled.

  3. Press Fn+F10 or F10 to save the changes and exit.
