Description
Describes the Unified Communications (UC) Swap feature that allows a UC change from Microsoft Teams Room to Zoom Rooms via the ThinkSmart Manager portal (portal.thinksmart.lenovo.com).
Before starting the Unified Communications (UC) Swap:
- By clicking Yes to changing Unified Communications (UC), this erases all data on the target device. This process occurs automatically and typically does not require further interaction on the device to change to the selected UC solution.
- The device must be online and connected over wired LAN port.

Solution
Unified Communications (UC) Swap steps
From the ThinkSmart Manager portal (portal.thinksmart.lenovo.com), initiate the UC swap by following these steps:
- Navigate to the to the device list and click a device to open the device tray.
- Next to the UC values, click the Edit
icon.
- Selected the desired UC from the drop-down menu.
- Accept confirmation dialog.
- The Unified Communications (UC) Swap does not require any interactions with the device. The device reset process runs automatically.
- After the device reset process completes, a new autogenerated password is created. The following Password update message appears. Click Close to complete the Unified Communications (UC) Swap procedure.
- During the UC Swap process, if the device powers off, or the Ethernet cable is disconnected, or other unexpected event, the device may need a software re-image. The FAQ's has details on device recovery.
- If the device is not shown as Online in a few minutes once you swapped the UC solution, you need to delete the device and claim it again.
Frequently Asked Question's (FAQ's) and Troubleshooting
What if during the UC Swap steps, a network failure, power failure, or UC Swap fails?
Lenovo recommends to perform a device recovery image to restore the device to factory settings. This allows the UC Swap operation to be performed again. The following more information about software recovery and reimage:

Are there issues after swapping from Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) to Zoom Rooms on the ThinkSmart One?
Based on the issue:
- Improper screen rotation (upside down) on the Auxiliary Display.
- Reboot the device. If not resolved, then go to step 2.
- Install the following driver: Rotation App Driver for Windows 11 IoT 64-bit (version 22H2) - ThinkSmart One ZOOM and reboot the device.
- New administrator password is missing in ThinkSmart Manager.
- Reboot the device.
- ThinkSmart Manager reports an Intel® Endpoint Management Assistant (EMA) agent install issue.
- Wait up to 15 minutes after successful completion of UC swap process. Success timestamp can be found in ThinkSmart Manager Activity History. If not resolved, then go to step 2.
- Reboot the device.
