Servicer ID Convergence FAQ
This Servicer ID convergence is NOT applicable for Call Centers, Repair Centers, AWSPs and Authorized Partners in North America.
Specific instructions will be provided by your service focal points.
1. What is Servicer ID Convergence?
This is a strategic move to streamline existing servicer IDs into a single unified ID which is called Lenovo ID
2. Why Servicer ID Convergence?
- Better experience as you only need a single Lenovo ID to access different Lenovo contents based on your role (service provider or call center)
- More efficient and secure way with the new Lenovo ID management process
- Building a framework for more personalization and capabilities on Lenovo Support website
3. Any impact to the users?
Yes. All servicer users are required to transition their existing Servicer ID into Lenovo ID to ensure continued access.
4. When will this be in effect?
Users are able to perform the ID transition from February 24, 2017 – March 24, 2017.
5. What happens if I do not transition my Servicer ID to Lenovo ID?
You can choose to defer the transition until March 24th, 2017 only. You will no longer be able to login to your servicer account using the Servicer ID after March 31, 2017, as the Lenovo Support website will fully utilize Lenovo ID beginning April 1st, 2017.
6. How can I merge my ID?
For users with an existing Lenovo ID
- Login to your servicer account. A pop up notification on Servicer ID transition will appear.
- Click on Merge with Existing Lenovo ID to login with your Lenovo ID to complete the transition.
For users without Lenovo ID:
- Login to your servicer account. A pop up notification on Servicer ID transition will appear.
- Click on Create New Lenovo ID
- You will be directed to the Lenovo ID sign up page.
Note: If your Servicer ID consists of an email address (e.g. john.smith@help.com), it would be advisable for you to use the same email address as your Lenovo ID. - You can sign up using your Facebook, Google+ or Live ID by selecting either one of the options listed.
- Alternatively, if you do not wish to use Facebook, Google+ or Live ID, you can also fill up the form, enter the verification code provided and click Sign Up.
- Check your registered e-mail for the Lenovo ID Confirmation mail.
- Click on the link in the e-mail to confirm your account.
- Once completed, login to your servicer account again.
- On the Servicer ID Transition pop up notification, click on Merge with Existing Lenovo ID to login with your new Lenovo ID to complete the transition.
