Ubuntu 24.04 fails to install from ISO when NIC link is up but has no connectivity to the internet

Symptoms

Ubuntu 24.04 fail

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Installing Ubuntu 24.04 from an ISO will fail when a NIC on the system has link up but cannot connect to the internet.  It will fail with the error in the screenshot below

 

 

 

Fix

Ubuntu is still investigating this issue.  Status can be found at https://bugs.launchpad.net/subiquity/+bug/2060442

 

Workaround

During installation from ISO, ensure that link is down for any NIC that does not have connectivity to the internet.
