How to enable and disable the Touchpad on a Chromebook?

To enable or disable the tap-to-click touchpad function, use the following steps:

Start the Chromebook by lifting the LCD cover.
Sign in with the Google Account.
Click the status area in the lower-right corner and then click Settings.
Under Device, click Touchpad.
Uncheck the box next to Enable tap-to-click to enable or disable the tap-to-click function.
Choose your desired scrolling options. Google has provided an explanation of various touchpad settings via the Learn More hyperlink.
To change the scrolling speed, adjust the slider bar to the desired speed.
