Audio ports on select ThinkPad docks do not support Dolby Enhancement feature - ThinkPad Docks
Symptom
Audio quality is noticeably worse when the headset is connected to the ThinkPad dock versus directly to the PC's audio port. When connected to the PC, the active controller is RealTek High Definition Audio which has Dolby enhancements in its properties. When connected to the dock, the controller is ThinkPad Dock Audio which does not have these configuration tabs.

Limitations
This is by design. The following dock Audio ports do not support the Dolby enhancement feature:
- ThinkPad USB-C Dock (40A9)
- ThinkPad Thunderbolt 3 Dock (40AC)
- ThinkPad OneLink+ Dock (40A4)
- ThinkPad USB3.0 Pro Dock (40A7)
- ThinkPad USB3.0 Ultra Dock (40A8)
- ThinkPad USB3.0 Basic Dock (40AA)
