Steps and instructions to troubleshoot mouse problems on Lenovo PCs only

General troubleshooting steps

  1. Check or replace the batteries if the mouse is wireless.
  2. If the mouse has a switch or power button, make sure it is on (some mice may have a light on the bottom when power is on).
  3. Check the mouse cable or USB connector. Try unplugging and then plugging the cable or connector back in.
  4. If the PC has multiple ports that support the mouse cable or connector, try a different port.
  5. Clean the mouse using the manufacturer's instructions.
  6. Use the mouse on a flat, nonreflective surface.
  7. Verify the latest driver from the manufacturer is installed for the mouse.
  8. Some wireless mice may have special pairing instructions. See the mouse manufacturer’s web site for additional instructions.

Check the mouse driver in Device Manager

  1. Right-click the Windows icon and select Device Manager from the menu.
