Description
Describes how to create an Organization using a Lenovo ID. Steps include:
- Log in to the ThinkSmart Manager portal (https://portal.thinksmart.lenovo.com).
- Create an Organization. The person that creates the Organization becomes the Owner. The following roles are available:
- Owner: Controls the oganization's account, can modify devices and their configurations, add users/change all users. All users includes: other owners, Admins, and Viewers.
- Admin: Can modify devices, and their configurations, add/change users except Owners.
- Viewer: Can only view data in the ThinkSmart Manager portal and run reports.
- Invite users in the Organization.
For Single Sign-On (SSO), create the Lenovo ID Organization, then continue with a SSO migration:

Solution
- Go to ThinkSmart Manager portal.
- Click Create an Organization if the organization has not been created.
- Log in with your Lenovo ID. If you need to create an Lenovo ID, continue by clicking Sign up and follow the on-screen instructions to create a Lenovo ID. Be sure to validate the e-mail that comes from Lenovo when you first create a Lenovo ID.
Note: Do not use Lenovo ID’s Social Sign-on feature (Facebook, Google, or Windows® Live ID) for your ThinkSmart Manager. Lenovo recommends to sign in using an email address and password.
Once the Lenovo ID has been created, using the link in the e-mail, log in to the ThinkSmart Manager with your Lenovo ID.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to create an Organization.
- After the Organization is created, you are automatically logged in to the newly created Organization as an Owner.
- You will receive an email with a link to your Organization. You can save it to bookmarks for easier acccess to the Organization.
- Also, you can enter an Organization ID which is part of the link in email displayed above, click Submit button if you are trying to log in on the main Sign In page.
- Then, log in with your Lenovo ID.
- The person that created the Organization is known as the Owner. The owner sends invitations from within the ThinkSmart Manager portal to persons who need access.
