Description
In the BIOS you can adjust computer date/time, review hardware configuration information (machine type, serial number, memory and HDD, etc.), set wireless or hot key functions, or adjust the power-on startup process. Note: If there is a padlock symbol on the PC BIOS, use the BIOS password to unlock.

Solution
How to enter BIOS setup Utility in Windows 10 and 11
Enter BIOS during Power On (repeatedly tap the F1 key when the PC is loading)
- Power on the system by pressing the power button.
- Repeatedly tap the F1 key when the Lenovo, ThinkPad, ThinkStation, or ThinkCentre logo appears.
- The computer may beep once to indicate that it will boot to BIOS.
- Some models require users to continuously press Enter instead of F1 during power on; once the Startup Interrupt Menu displays, press F1 to enter BIOS.
The following images display sample BIOS screens.
Enter BIOS from Computer Desktop
- Click the Start Menu button
or press the Windows key on the keyboard.
- Select the Settings icon from the left side of the menu
to open the Settings Window.
- If you are using a touch screen, swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Settings.
- Another option is to right-click Start and select Settings.
- Windows 10: In the Settings window, select Update & security.
- Select Recovery, then Restart now.
Windows 11: Select System, Recovery, Advanced startup, then Restart now.
- The Options menu will be seen after executing the above procedures. Click Troubleshoot.
- Select Advanced options.
- Click UEFI Firmware Settings, then choose Restart.
- This displays the BIOS setup utility interface.
Additional Steps (if the previous steps not work)
If the previous steps do not work, try the following options:
Option 1
Restart the machine and press the Enter key at the Lenovo logo. There may be a press Enter to Interrupt message on the screen.
This may cause the Startup Interrupt Menu to appear. Pressing F1 at the Startup Interrupt Menu will cause the computer to enter BIOS.
Option 2
While in Windows:
- Press and hold the Shift key when selecting Shut Down from the start menu. This performs a full shutdown.
- Turn the machine on and press the Enter key at the Lenovo logo, there may be a press Enter to Interrupt message on the screen.
Option 3
Disable fast startup so that going into the BIOS works with the Enter key after a shutdown.
- Select the Start icon and then select Settings.
- Select System.
- Select Power & Sleep. Select Additional power settings under Related Settings.
- Select Choose what the power buttons do.
- Select Change settings that are currently unavailable. Disable Turn on fast startup.
- Select Save changes. Turn the machine off. Turn the machine on and press the Enter key when the Lenovo logo is displayed.
