1. Go to Lenovo Data Center Support Website.
   


2. Under the Data Center Support title, select the Servers tile.
   


3. Under Select Series, select your server hardware series(Ex: ThinkSystem).
   


4. Under Select SubSeries, select your server product subseries(Ex: SR550).
   


5. Under Select Machine Type, select your machine type(Ex: 7X03, 7X04).
   
   In this example, 7x04 is selected.
   


6. Download the firmware that you want to update.
   
   In this example, RAID/SAS HBA Controllers, Backplanes, Storage Expanders/Switches, Bootable Storage is chosen.

Procedure

1. Select Firmware Update in the left navigation panel. On the Firmware Update page, the systems are displayed along with information about firmware status and version. Users can update firmware by clicking Update Firmware in the right corner of each window.
   

2. Click Browse to select the firmware update file.
   

3. Click Next to upload and verify the firmware.
   

4. Select the device you want to update, and then click Next to begin the firmware update.
   

5. Click Finish when the firmware update is complete.
   

6. If the update requires the XClarity Controller to be restarted in order to take effect, a warning message will be displayed.

If you prefer written instructions, use the following steps to perform updates.

Procedure

1. Click Firmware Update in the left panel to enter the Firmware Update interface.
   

2. Click Browse Update Package. The Select File window will be displayed.
   

3. Select the corresponding XML file in the update package and click OK Note: If the update package is stored on a USB storage drive, insert the USB storage drive into the server.
   If the update package is stored in a shared network folder, ensure that you have configured the network settings. For instructions on how to configure network settings, refer to Configuring network settings.
   

4. The item you want to update will be enabled and the version information will be displayed in the Available Version column. Select the items you want to update.
   

5. Click Update. The update process takes several minutes.
   

6. When the Status for each item shows as , the update process will be complete.

If you prefer written instructions, use the following steps to perform updates.

Procedure

1. Click Provisioning at the top of the main screen to see the firmware and Windows driver update section.
   

2. Click Apply/Activate to display the firmware update page.
   

3. Select the target firmware version for each device and perform the updates.
   

4. The Update Summary dialog will be displayed. Choose Update Rule and Activation Rule, and then click Perform Update.
   

5. When the firmware-update jobs are complete, you can verify that the devices are compliant by clicking the Refresh icon. The current firmware version that is active on each device is listed in the Installed Version column.
