Symptom
When enabling SR-IOV on systems with the Intel x722 LOM, Windows 2022 crashes with a BSOD.
(where SR-IOV = Single Root I/O Virtualization, BSOD = Blue Screen of Death)
Affected Configurations
The system is configured with one or more of the following Lenovo Options:
- Intel x722 ThinkSystem 10Gb 2-port Base-T LOM, Option 7ZT7A00548, any model
- Intel x722 ThinkSystem 10Gb 2-port SFP+ LOM, Option 7ZT7A00546, any model
- Intel x722 ThinkSystem 10Gb 4-port Base-T LOM, Option 7ZT7A00549, any model
- Intel x722 ThinkSystem 10Gb 4-port SFP+ LOM, Option 7ZT7A00547, any model
- Intel x722 ThinkSystem 1Gb 2-port RJ45 LOM, Option 7ZT7A00544, any model
- Intel x722 ThinkSystem 1Gb 4-port RJ45 LOM, Option 7ZT7A00545, any model
- Intel x722 ThinkSystem D2 10Gb 8-port Base-T (RJ45), Option 7M17A04001, any model
- Intel x722 ThinkSystem D2 10Gb 8-port SFP+, Option 7M17A04000, any model

Solution
The fix for this issue is included in Intel Windows device driver SW release 27.1.4.
This fix is currently available on the Lenovo web site.
The files are available by selecting the appropriate Product Group, type of System, Product name, Product machine type, and Operating system on Lenovo Support web page, at the following URL:

Additional Information
During inbox driver scheduling, the memory write operation reached an illegal memory address. The inbox driver only has basic functionality and does not include advanced features. The latest full featured retail/OOB driver is required if SR-IOV is needed.
