Systems listed below have been tested for upgrade to Windows 10 November 2019 update (version 1909) from:

• Initial Windows 10 May 2019 update (version 1903)
• Windows 10 October update (version 1809)
• Windows 10 April update (version 1803)
• Windows 10 Fall Creators Update (version 1709)

Note: Newer Systems are not listed in this upgrade notice. For these newer systems please refer to the following URL that will show the system and the current supported operating system supported at Partner Center (microsoft.com) or contact your Lenovo Sales office for a Certification letter showing the system family in question has been tested and is supported.

If your device is not listed in the table below, your system was not tested by Lenovo and updated drivers may not be available. If you want to proceed with upgrading or updating an untested device, refer to the Microsoft Windows Help website. Microsoft may provide generic drivers for the hardware as part of Windows 10, but some features and functionality may be lost.

ThinkPad laptops

Limitations

1. Products with Lenovo Vantage (10.1909.24.0)
After upgrading the operating system from Windows 10 (1903) to Windows 10 (1909), when you launch Lenovo Vantage (version 10.1909.24.0), there are two limitations, as follows::

1) By clicking Device -> My Device Settings -> Power, you might find the option of “Lenovo Vantage Toolbar” missing under the Other settings tab. To solve the problem, in the Windows notification area, right click Taskbar. select Toolbars -> Lenovo Vantage Toolbar. Or do the following:
a. Download the file: FixLenovoVantageToolbar.zip.
b. Run FixLenovoVantageToolbar.bat as an administrator.
c. Restart your computer.

2) By clicking Device->System Update->CHECK FOR UPDATES, if the CHECK FOR UPDATE button is grey or a message displays as “no updates are available, your system is up to date.” To solve the problem, make sure you can find the Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver in Control Panel. Then, do the following: :
a. Download and install SystemInterfaceFoundation.exe.
b. Restart your computer.
c. Uninstall the Lenovo System Interface Foundation Driver through Control Panel->Programs->Uninstall a program. Click No when it alerts to restart the computer when the uninstallation process finished.
d. Go to Device manager->System devices-> System Interface Foundation device and right click on it to uninstall. Please also select the Delete the driver software for this device checkbox.
e. Restart your computer.
f. Launch Lenovo Vantage again.
g. Lenovo Vantage will automatically install the services. This will take several minutes.

2. ThinkPad computers with hotkey features.
After upgrading the operating system from Windows 10 (1903) to Windows 10 (1909), the hotkey features do not work normally. This is due to the lack of hotkey driver.
To solve the issue, please do the following:

1. Find the driver supported on your computer. The following links contain the supported models for each driver:

2. Install the driver.

3. ThinkPad 25
After upgrading the operating system from Windows 10 (1903) to Windows 10 (1909), when you open Lenovo Vantage and find the User Guide shows ThinkPad T470. This is a limitation of Lenovo Vantage.

4. ThinkPad E560p with Lenovo Vantage (4.27.32.0)
After upgrading the operating system from Windows 10 (1903) to Windows 10 (1909), if you click Settings -- Update & Security -- Recovery -- Reset this PC -- Get started -- Keep my files to reset your computer, when the process is completed and you re-open Lenovo Vantage from the desktop, an error message is displayed as “There was a problem starting, C:\ProgramData\Lenovo\Imcontroller\Plugins \LenovoBatteryGaugePackage\x64\LenovoBatteryGaugePackage.dll. Access is denied.” This is a limitation of operating system.
To solve the problem, do the following:
1) Go to Control panel.
2) Click Change account type under User Accounts.
3) Select the account you are using.
4) In the Change an Account window, click Change the account type.
5) When the window opens, select Administrator and then click Change Account Type. Provide the administrator password when prompted.
6) Close the window and log out the current account.

If the problem still exists, give Full control permission to the user profile by doing the following:
1) Press Windows logo + E keys on the keyboard to open File Explorer.
2) Click This PC from the left panel.
3) Right click on the C: drive and select Properties.
4) In the Properties window, click Advanced Sharing under the Sharing tab. Enter the administrator password if prompted.
5) Select Share this folder and click Permissions.
6) In the Permissions for Everyone area, select Allow for Full Control.
7) Click OK to save the changes.

5. ThinkPad P50s, T560, X1 Carbon Gen 4, X1 Yoga Gen 1, Yoga 460, P40 Yoga, Yoga 14, S3 with Realtek Camera
After upgrading the operating system from Windows 10 (1903) to Windows 10 (1909), when you use the camera to record a video, the camera might blink with the error message “Something went wrong” displayed. This is a limitation of the Realtek Camera driver.
To solve the problem, please do the following:
1) Disconnect the network.
2) Open Device Manager and uninstall the camera driver.
3) Install the Integrated Camera Driver (Version 1709 or later) which can be downloaded from the Lenovo Support Web site.
4) Connect to the network and restart your computer.

6. ThinkPad L560
After upgrading the operating system from Windows 10 (1903) to Windows 10 (1909), after recovering your computer from a system image, an error message is displayed as “Failed to load Apoint.DLL, Alps Pointing device application has stopped”. This is a limitation of the UltraNav driver.
To solve the problem, please do the following:
1) Press the Window + X key to open Device Manager.
2) Expand the arrow before Mice and other pointing devices and select Think UltraNav device. Right click on it and select Update driver. The UltraNav driver will be automatically updated to the latest. Or you also can download the latest driver from the Lenovo Support Web site:

3) Restart your computer.

7. Products with Fingerprint
After upgrading the operating system from Windows 10 (1903) to Windows 10 (1909), When switching from a local account to a Microsoft account for the first time, the fingerprint settings page automatically exits before entering the desktop. This is a Limitation of Windows 10 (1909).

8. ThinkPad A275
After upgrading the operating system from Windows 10 (1903) to Windows 10 (1909), sometimes when you connect your computer to a Miracast device for video playing, the connection may fail. This is a limitation of the AMD video driver.
To solve the problem, please do the following:
1) Before 12/20/2019: Try to disconnect and reconnect one more time. If the problem still exists, from the Start menu, click Power->Sleep. Then, resume from the sleep mode and try again.
2) After 12/20/2019: Download the latest AMD video driver from the Lenovo Support Web site.

9. ThinkPad A485
After upgrading the operating system from Windows 10 (1903) to Windows 10 (1909), when connecting your computer to an external monitor and switch from the Second Screen Only mode to the Extend or Duplicate mode, the monitor cannot display normally. This is a limitation of BIOS. The latest BIOS (version later than R0WET60W(1.28) ) will be released on Lenovo Support Web site or Lenovo Vantage by the end of November 2019. At that moment, launch Lenovo Vantage and click Device->System Update->CHECK FOR UPDATES or go to Lenovo Support Web site for the latest BIOS update.

10. ThinkPad A285 with Chicory Camera
After upgrading the operating system from Windows 10 (1903) to Windows 10 (1909), videos recorded by the camera may not play smoothly. It is a Limitation of the Chicony camera Firmware. The new Firmware (Versions 0028) can fix this, it is available on the Lenovo Support Web site.

Lenovo Notebook/Ideapad

Limitations

1. Lenovo Entertainment Hub is end of life. If any issue occur, you can uninstall it.
2. K21-80/M41-80
When use Bluetooth speaker/Bluetooth headset to adjust volume with BCM43162 wlan card, No volume display on screen.
