RETAIN tip: H192123
Symptom |
---|
While the end user is working with the CP20 Remote Workstation Connection device, an error causes the video display to freeze.
This error occurs at random and cannot be predicted. The image on the video display remains the same. Neither the mouse, nor keyboard, are operational at this time.
Affected configurations |
---|
The system may be any of the following IBM servers:
- BladeCenter Chassis, type 8677, any model
- BladeCenter H, type 7989, any model
- BladeCenter H, type 8852, any model
- BladeCenter HC10, type 7996, any model

Solution |
---|
This behavior will be corrected in a future release of the hardware. The Target date for this release is scheduled for Fourth Quarter 2007.
There is no firmware update for this problem.
Workaround |
---|
The workaround is to power off the CP20 by pressing the power on button on the front panel and then press the button again to power the CP20 back on.
An on-screen display shows a "Connect" icon. Move the mouse pointer over this area and click on the icon. The CP20 then connects to the HC10 Workstation blade that the user was connected to prior to the error. The user then has access to the operating system and can continue working.
