Solution

To set up Windows Hello to log in to Windows 10 using your fingerprint, first set up a PIN to log on. Use the following steps:

1. Right-click Start, then select Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options. Set up a PIN before the Setup button is activated.

2. To set up a PIN, log in to Windows 10 with a Microsoft Account and add the PIN to your MSA profile. Enter the password in the provided field and then select Sign In.

3. Set up a PIN and confirm it. Then select OK.

4. The Set up button under Windows Hello will be activated.

5. Select Get started.

6. Run your finger over the fingerprint scanner until the setup app reports completed. Optionally add more or different fingers.

7. After restarting the computer, select Sign in Options, and then sign in using your fingerprint.
