Solution
- Go to Lenovo documentation and look for the memory module installation rules for your server.
- Power down the server and disconnect all power cords. Follow the memory module installation rules for your server to install memory modules in the correct memory slots:
EX: ThinkSystem SR630 V2
- Note:
- All memory modules must be the same type with the same capacity, frequency, voltage, and ranks.
- All Performance+ DIMMs in the server must be of the same type, rank, and capacity (the same Lenovo part number) to operate at 2933 MHz in the configurations with two DIMMs per channel. Performance+ DIMMs cannot be mixed with other DIMMs.
- Reconnect all cables and power on the server. Press F1 to enter LXPM.
- Select Launch Graphical Setup -> UEFI Settings -> System Settings -> Operating Modes -> set Choose Operating Mode to Custom. Click Back to return to System Settings.
- System Settings -> Memory -> Mirror Mode: select either Full or Partial:
- Full Mirror Mode: in this mode, the available system memory is reduced by half of the total installed memory.
- Partial Mirror Mode: in this mode, you have the option of whether to mirror all available memory below the 4GB memory address limit.
Mirror below 4GB = Enable. When this option is enabled, system will mirror all available system memory below the 4GB address limit, which is typically 1 ~ 3 GB.
Mirror below 4GB = Disable. Select Disable if you do not wish to mirror all available memory below the 4GB address limit.
- Click the Save icon and select OK to reboot the system for the new setting to be effective.
- The mirroring memory information is displayed on the system boot screen. The usable memory capacity is reduced according to the configuration that was set in UEFI.
