LXCA: Excessive scrolling in Apply/Activate table with Firefox browser - Lenovo x86 Servers

Symptom

When vertically scrolling the list of managed systems in the Lenovo XClarity Administrator (LXCA) Firmware Updates Apply or Activate page in the Firefox browser, the list may scroll up or down more than expected.

The symptom is seen only when all of the following conditions are true:

  • When the user is using the Firefox browser.
  • When the user is scrolling a page at a time, either by clicking in an empty portion of the vertical scrollbar above or below the draggable "handle", or by using the Page Up or Page down keys. When clicking the arrows at the top or bottom of the scrollbar, or when using the Up or Down arrow keys, the list scrolls up or down one row, as expected.
  • When the "Use smooth scrolling" option is enabled in Firefox. This option is found within the "Advanced" section of "Options".

Affected Configurations

The system is configured with at least one of the following:

  • Lenovo XClarity Administrator, any N/A, any version

This tip is not system specific.

This tip is not option specific.

The system has the symptom described above.

Solution

This issue has been fixed in version 1.2.2 of Lenovo XClarity Administrator.

Workaround

Do any of the following:

  • Disable the "Use smooth scrolling" Firefox option.
  • Use a different browser supported by the application.
  • Scroll the list one row at a time, using the arrows at the top and bottom of the scrollbar, or the Up and Down keys on the keyboard.
