Symptom

When typing and then immediately switching to the Touchpad or TrackPoint, there is a delay of about a second before the Touchpad or TrackPoint responds.

Solution

Use the following steps:

  1. Identify which device has the slow response – TrackPoint (#1) or Touchpad (#2).

  2. Go to Control Panel.

  3. Select Devices.

  4. Select Mouse.

  5. Select the ThinkPad tab. Increase the sensitivity of the TouchPad or TrackPoint.

  6. Update to the latest ThinkPad UltraNav driver from Lenovo PC Support Site.
    1. Visit Lenovo PC Support Site.
    2. Search, detect, or browse for your model.

    3. Select your model from the drop-down list to navigate to the product support Home page.
      For example: T14 Gen 5

    4. Select Drivers & Software.

    5. Click Select Drivers in the Manual Update tile. 
    6. Search for the desired driver using keywords and select the tile to continue. In this case, enter the keyword: UltraNav.

    7. Select the latest UltraNav driver to download.
