This package provides the Ethernet driver for Microsoft Windows XP, XP Tablet Edition 2005, 2000, NT users.

This package also installs Broadcom Advanced Control Suite 2 (BACS2) which is an integrated utility that provides useful information about each network adapter that is installed in your computer. BACS2 also enables you to perform detailed tests, diagnostics, and analyses on each adapter, as well as to view and modify property values and view traffic statistics for each adapter.
If this package has been installed, updating (overwrite-installing) this package will fix problems, add new functions, or expand functions.

- Start Windows XP / Windows XP Tablet Edition 2005 / Windows 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
- Extract the package to the hard drive (default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\ETHERNET).
- Click Start, then click All Programs.
- Click Accessories, then click Run.
- Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2 and click OK.
Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\ETHERNET\TOOLS\DRVINST\IA32\SETUP.EXE - Click Next.
- Select I accept the terms in the license agreement.
- Click Install.
- Click Finish, then reboot the system.
Windows NT 4.0 |
---|
- Start Windows NT 4.0.
- Note the full path name of the folder where the drivers are extracted before starting the installation.
- Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel.
- Double-click Network.
- Click the Adapters tab.
- Select Broadcom NetXtreme/NetLink Fast/Gigabit Ethernet.
- Click Update.
- Type the full path name of the folder where the drivers are extracted in Insert Disk dialog box.
Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\ETHERNET\WINNT - Click Continue.
- Click Close.
- Click Yes when prompted to restart the computer.
Clean install (First Network Configuration)
- Start Windows NT 4.0.
- Note the full path name of the folder where the drivers are extracted before starting the installation.
- Click Start, select Settings, and click Control Panel.
- Double-click Network.
- It displays the "Network Configuration" dialog box if this is the first time to configure the Network. If not, go to step 21.
- Click Yes.
- Select Wired to the network, and click Next.
- Click Select from list.
- Click Have Disk.
- Type the full path name of the folder where the drivers are extracted in Insert Disk dialog box.
Example: c:\Drivers\WIN\Ethernet\WinNT - Click OK.
- Select Gigabit Ethernet Controller, then click OK.
- Click Next.
- Select Network Protocols and click Next.
- Select Network Services and click Next.
- Click Next.
- Follow the prompts for any Windows NT installation disks by typing the full path to the folder that contains Windows NT files. It is usually the c:\i386 folder or Windows NT CD-ROM's \i386 directory.
- Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
- Click Finish when the installation completes.
- Click Yes when prompted to restart the computer.
Add Ethernet to Network Configuration - Click the Adapters tab.
- Click Add.
- Click Have Disk.
- Type the full path name of the folder where the drivers are extracted in Insert Disk dialog box.
Example: c:\Drivers\WIN\Ethernet\WinNT - Click OK.
- Select Gigabit Ethernet Controller.
- Click OK.
- Click Close.
- Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
- Click Yes when prompted to restart the computer.
BACS2 Installation |

- Execute setup.exe in the BACS folder
- Click Next.
- Click Yes.
- Click Next.
- Click OK.
Unattended Installation |

This is for system administrators' use only.
- Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges.
- Extract the package to the hard drive.
The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\ETHERNET. - Click Start, then click All Programs.
- Click Accessories, then click Run
- Specify SETUP.EXE /s /v/qn with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK.
Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\ETHERNET\TOOLS\DRVINST\IA32\SETUP.EXE /s /v/qn - Follow the instructions on the screen, then reboot the system.
