Steps and instructions to resolve blurry application issues in Windows 10 and 11
Use the following steps to resolve blurry applications in Windows.
Windows 10
Use the Windows 10 built-in feature to fix blurry apps
- Go to Start and Settings.
- Select System.
- Select Display.
- Under Scale and layout, select Advanced scaling settings.
- Then turn on the option Let Windows try to fix apps so they're not blurry.
If the built-in feature does not help, try changing the app size
- Go back to the Display setting panel.
- Under Scale and layout, change the Size of text, apps and other items to the Recommended option.
- Restart your PC to save changes.
Try changing the resolution rate
- In the Display panel, under Scale and layout, change the Resolution to the Recommended option.
- Restart your PC to save changes.
Try updating your display drivers
- Use the Search feature to search for and open Device Manager. In Device Manager, right-click the Graphic driver and run driver update.
- In the next window, select Search automatically for drivers. When you are finished, restart your PC to save changes.
Windows 11
Use the Windows 11 built-in feature to fix blurry apps
- Go to Start and Settings.
- Select System >Display.
- Under Scale and layout, use the drop-down menu to change system scale of text, apps, and other items.
- Use the drop-down menu to change display resolution.
Turn on ClearType Text
If the text is still blurry, turn on ClearType to make it sharper.
Use the Search bar to search for adjust ClearType text, then follow the instruction to turn on ClearType.
Set graphics performance for certain apps
- Go to Start and Settings.
- Select System >Display.
- Select Graphics. Click Options for the app that is blurry.
- Select High performance, then click Save. Restart these apps to take effect.
Try updating your display drivers
- Use the Search feature to search for and open Device Manager.
