      Installation instructions
      1. Install DOS on the hard drive or diskette.
      2. Run this file to build the PCMCIA installation diskette.
      3. If necessary, backup the existing CONFIG.SYS file on the system you wish to install PCMCIA support, and then copy the CONFIG.SYS file located on the DOS PCMCIA installation diskette you just built to the root directory of the boot drive.
      4. Create a directory on the drive you just copied the CONFIG.SYS file to that will hold the actual drivers, e.g. MD C:\PCCARD
      5. Copy the other files located on the DOS PCMCIA installation diskette to directory you created in step 4.
      6. If necessary, modify the CONFIG.SYS file to match your current operating environment.
Note: This package is not supported by Software Installer.

      Determining which version is installed
Check the date stamp of the IBMDOSCS.SYS file under \PCCARD directory.
For example, 1:01 means Version 1.01.
      • To determine if you have to update the PC Card driver or not, please refer to the "Summary of Changes" section.
      • To update the PC Card driver, please refer to the "Installation Guide" section.
      Technical Information
This package contains the following files:
      • IBMDOSCS.SYS : Card Services driver for DOS
      • IBMDSS14.SYS : Socket Services driver for DOS
      • DICRMU01.SYS : Resource Map Utility driver for DOS.
      • CONFIG.SYS : Sample file of CONFIG.SYS

Parameters of Resource Map Utility (DICRMU01.SYS) are the following:

/MA=xxxx-yyyySpecifies the address range available for Card Services and the PC Cards. This should be specified in the range from D000h to DFFFh.
Note: If EMM386 or another EMS memory manager is used, this area must be excluded from use by the memory manager. (For example: EMM386 X=xxxx-yyyy.)
/IX=nSpecifies the IRQ level (or levels) that should not be used by the PC Cards (where n=IRQ level). This parameter is used to avoid possible IRQ conflicts. The Resource Map Utility can automatically detect many IRQ's that are already in use, but may not detect all. Multiple IRQ's may be specified by separating them with a comma (,).
/SH=1This parameter enables the Shared IRQ for the built-in serial devices
