Unsupported Browser Detected

The Lenovo Support website supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 10+, Mozilla Firefox 29+, Chrome 34+ and any other modern web browser.

      ThinkPad Notebook computers and Tablets do not install all Lenovo drivers when deployed with Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)

      Symptom

      After a successful MDT deploy of Microsoft Windows 7 or Windows 8 to a Lenovo ThinkPad computer or Tablet, there may be Yellow Bangs displayed in Device Manager or some hardware devices fail to function as expected.

      Affected Configurations

      The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

      • ThinkPad

      Affected systems:

      • ThinkPad Tablets
      • ThinkPad notebook computers

      System is configured with:

      Operating System:

      • Microsoft Windows 7
      • Microsoft Windows 8

       

      Solution

      Once the SCCM Driver Pack has been downloaded, extracted, and added to MDT through the Out-of-Box drivers import operation, a Selection Profile must be created.  In the Task Sequence for the ThinkPad Tablet or notebook computer, the Selection Profile must be changed to the "Install all drivers from the selection profile" option.  If the MDT default option of “Install” only matching drivers from the selection profile is used, then the PnP enumeration run by MDT will incorrectly detect hardware devices will fail to install the appropriate device drivers.
