Unsupported Browser Detected

The Lenovo Support website supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 10+, Mozilla Firefox 29+, Chrome 34+ and any other modern web browser.

      The parallel printer can not be detected by the system when connected with the UTP (USB to Parallel) dongle - ThinkCentre M92, M92p

      Symptom

      The parallel printer can not be detected by the system when connected with the UTP (USB to Parallel) dongle, but can be used normally after installing the printer driver manually.

      The user experiences this occurrence when the following steps are performed:

      1. Connect the parallel printer to the system's USB ports with the UTP (USB to Parallel) dongle.
      2. The parallel printer can not be detected by the system.
      Affected configurations

      The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

      • ThinkCentre M92, M92p

      Applies To:

      • Microsoft Windows 7
      • Microsoft Windows XP
      Solution

      None.  Do not replace any hardware for this issue.

      Workaround
      1. Connect the parallel printer to the system's USB ports with the UTP (USB to Parallel) dongle.
      2. Insert the printer driver disk that printer attached into the system's DVD drive.
      3. Run the disk and select the printer driver install item to run.
      4. The printer can be used normally.
