      Potential Win Photoshop Elements and Adobe Premiere 10 uninstall issue

      Symptom

      While installing the Win PSE/PRE 10 installers create a registry entry for the path of folder where the uninstall logs are to be created (new feature for Win PSE/PRE 10). If there is no user during the time of installation, the path of the temporary folder refers to a location, which does not exist. So subsequently when a user tries to uninstall it does not have the access to that area and an error message  “Error opening installation log file. Verify that the specified log file location exists and is writable.” appears.

      Affected configurations

      The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

      • All ThinkStation
      • All ThinkCentre
      • All ThinkPad 

      Applies to:

      • Microsoft Windows 7
      Solution

      Run the patch “PEPE10uninstallFix.exe” on the machine for updating the registry. Please make sure to run the exe “As Administrator”.
