      Note: The LCD for notebook computers contains many thin-film transistors (TFTs). The presence of a small number of dots that are missing, discolored, or always lit are characteristics of TFT LCD technology, but excessive pixel problems can cause viewing concerns.       Symptom or Error

      • No beep, power-on, indicator on, and a blank LCD during POST

      • LCD brightness cannot be adjusted
      • LCD contrast cannot be adjusted
      1. Lid switch on the keyboard bezel

      • LCD screen stays on even after you turn off your computer
      1. Press and hold the power switch for 4 seconds or longer to turn off your computer
      2. Then turn it on again
