Frequently Asked Question's (FAQ's)
- How to power on and power off?
- The device and monitor have separate power on/off behavior based on the following:
Condition Device Monitor Only Power On - Automatically powers on when the device is connected to power.
- Automatically powers on when the device is connected to power.
- When the device is powered on, and pressing the power button when the monitor is currently powered off.
Power Off From the Device Settings - Press the power button located on the rear of the device.
When using a Personal license: Home screen → User ID → Settings → Device Settings → Power Off
When using a Shared-room license: Home screen → Settings → Device Settings → Power Off

- What hardware diagnostics are available?

- What software recovery, reimage is available?

- How to perform a device factory reset?

- Are software updates required?
- ThinkSmart View Plus is an Android-based operating system device. When connected to the internet, the device supports Over-the-Air (OTA) firmware and software updates from Microsoft Teams admin center (https://admin.teams.microsoft.com). For more information, visit the following:

- How to restart the device?
- Restart the device by: Go to Settings → Device settings → Reboot device.
- What is Manual Claiming, and when to use Manual Claiming?
- Manual Claiming helps to add the ThinkSmart View Plus to the ThinkSmart Manager portal (https://portal.thinksmart.lenovo.com) if using the ThinkSmart View Plus with the ThinkSmart Manager portal. - What is Lenovo Smart Office Services?
- Lenovo Smart Office Services is a deployment service to help configure, set up, and troubleshoot Lenovo Smart Collaboration solutions. Lenovo Smart Office Services is included with each ThinkSmart View Plus. To contact a specialist, visit: Smart Office Services.
- Can other meeting applications be installed on the ThinkSmart View Plus?
- No. The ThinkSmart View Plus is designed for Microsoft Teams displays only. Lenovo recommends not to install any other application.
- Can the ThinkSmart View Plus soundbar be used as a standalone Bluetooth speaker?
- No. The ThinkSmart View Plus soundbar can be configured as a speaker device when connected to a PC system when the ThinkSmart View Plus is connected using the USB-C cable.
- How to find device settings information?
- Based on the Microsoft 365 Account Type:

- Based on the Microsoft 365 Account Type:
- The ThinkSmart View Plus is not working with the ThinkSmart Manager portal (https://portal.thinksmart.lenovo.com) after the device was serviced or repaired.
- Following a system motherboard replacement, the ThinkSmart Manager portal (https://portal.thinksmart.lenovo.com) requires a Serial Number (SN) update. For more information, visit: Important information following a motherboard replacement service repair - ThinkSmart View Plus.
- What to do when the ThinkSmart View Plus is running slow, or having software troubles?
- Perform a device factory reset. For more information, visit:Factory Reset, Hardware Diagnostics, Manual Claiming application - ThinkSmart View Plus.
- What is the meaning of the QR code sticker after a service repair?
- The QR code sticker indicates the system motherboard was replaced during a service repair.
- If the ThinkSmart View Plus is using the ThinkSmart Manager portal (https://portal.thinksmart.lenovo.com), following a system motherboard replacement, the ThinkSmart Manager portal (https://portal.thinksmart.lenovo.com) requires a Serial Number (SN) update. Troubleshooting
- The ThinkSmart View Plus does not power on when the power button is pressed.
- Confirm that the device is properly connected to power using the power adapter and power cord.
- Confirm that the device power LED is on.
- The camera is not working.
- Confirm that the camera is properly connected to the device.
- Restart the device by: Go to Settings → Device settings → Reboot device.
- No sound from the soundbar.
- Ensure that the device is not muted.
- Ensure that the soundbar is properly connected to the device.
- Restart the device by: Go to Settings → Device settings → Reboot device.
- Face login does not work.
- Confirm that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) features have been followed.
- Disconnect and reconnect the camera.
- Restart the device by: Go to Settings → Device settings → Reboot device.
- No communications when using the Ethernet RJ45 LAN connection with an Ethernet Cable.
- Confirm the device is correctly connected to the RJ45 Ethernet connector using an Ethernet cable.
- If necessary and available, try another Ethernet cable.
- Review the device network configuration:
- Go to Settings → Device settings → Network Configuration.
- Confirm that DHCP is On. If necessary, turn off, and turn on.
- No communications when using Wi-Fi (Wireless).
- Enable Wi-Fi by following these steps:
- Go to Settings → Device settings → WLAN.
- Confirm that Use Wi-Fi is on. If necessary, turn off, and turn on.
- Connect to another Wi-Fi network.
- If not resolved, restart the Wi-Fi router.
- Enable Wi-Fi by following these steps:
- Bluetooth connection does not work
- Go to Settings → Device settings → Bluetooth.
- If necessary, turn off, and turn on.
- Select a different device to pair.
- USB device, mouse or keyboard, does not work
- Disconnect and reconnect the USB device.
- If necessary, turn off, and turn on.
- Try another USB connector.
- If the USB device has its own power cord, connect the power cord to a grounded electrical.
- ThinkSmart View Plus does not work in External Display Mode, also known as Peripheral Mode.
- Peripheral Mode, the ThinkSmart View Plus
and the monitor
can be configured as external displays of your computer
as follows:
- Press the Mode Switch Button and confirm that External Display Mode is selected.
- Ensure to use the Lenovo provided USB-C cable for connection. For more details about External Display Mode, review the ThinkSmart View Plus Deployment Guide.
- Peripheral Mode, the ThinkSmart View Plus
- The ThinkSmart View Plus camera, audio or touch may not properly function when configured in Peripheral mode and using a customer-provided USB-C cable.
- Use the ThinkSmart View Plus Lenovo-provided USB-C cable.
- Device is running slow, or having software troubles.

- The ThinkSmart View Plus is not working with the ThinkSmart Manager portal (https://portal.thinksmart.lenovo.com) after the device was serviced or repaired.

- When adding more Chat emoji's from the Microsoft Teams home page, the following message appears: "Teams has stopped".
- Keyboard layout does not disappear after a chat message was sent in a Teams Channel using Microsoft Teams.
- Cannot send a message with a external keyboard Enter key.

- The speaker icons between the ThinkSmart View soundbar is not the same as the Microsoft Teams.
