In Windows 7, folders in Local Disk C can not be arranged automatically or ordered by default. Instead, the folders will be displayed by Earlier this week or Earlier this year. Or, the folders arranged in alphabetic order. See Fig.1
The above symptom may occur under the following operating system:

Windows 7 add new ways to arrange the folders. Apart from "Sort by" function, there is
"Group by" function. To change the above folders arrangement, you need to right click in the blank
place, choose "Group by" --> "None". Or you can hit F10 to get the same menu.
"None" option will not appear if you haven't chosen "Group by" to arrange the folders before.
