Nutanix diagnostic tools
Diagnostic tool | Description |
Syscheck utility | Syscheck is a tool that runs a load on a cluster and evaluates its performance characteristics. This tool provides pass or fail feedback on all the checks. The current checks are network throughput and direct disk random write performance. Syscheck tracks the tests on a per-node basis and prints the results at the conclusion of the test. |
Nutanix Cluster Check (NCC) | Nutanix Cluster Check (NCC) is a framework of scripts that can help diagnose cluster health. NCC can be run provided that the individual nodes are up, regardless of the cluster state. NCC is used to gather both health checks and logs. |
Diagnostics.py tool | This tool is useful in pre-sales demonstration of a cluster and while identifying the source of performance issues in a production cluster. Diagnostics should also be run as a part of the setup process to ensure a cluster is running properly before the customer takes ownership of it. You can use diagnostics.py from the shell of one of the Nutanix Controller VM. |
Nutanix management tools
Management tool | Description |
Prism central | Nutanix provides an option to monitor and manage multiple clusters through a single Web console. This multi-cluster view, known as Prism Central, is a centralized management tool that runs as a separate instance comprised of either a single VM or a set of VMs. |
Nutanix command-line interface (nCLI) | The Nutanix command-line interface (nCLI) allows you to run system administration commands against the Nutanix cluster from any of the local machines (preferred) or any Controller VM in the cluster. |
