Frequently Asked Question's (FAQ's)

  • How to power on and power off?
    • The device and monitor have separate power on/off behavior based on the following:
      Condition Device Monitor Only
      Power On
      • Automatically powers on when the device is connected to power. 
      • Automatically powers on when the device is connected to power.
      • When the device is powered on, and pressing the power button when the monitor is currently powered off.

      • Press the power button located on the rear of the device.
      When using a Personal license: Home screen → User ID → Settings → Device Settings → Power Off
      When using a Shared-room license: Home screen → Settings → Device Settings → Power Off

       

 

 

 

 

  • How to restart the device?
    • Restart the device by: Go to Settings  → Device settingsReboot device.

 

 

  • What is Lenovo Smart Office Services?
    • Lenovo Smart Office Services is a deployment service to help configure, set up, and troubleshoot Lenovo Smart Collaboration solutions. Lenovo Smart Office Services is included with each ThinkSmart View Plus. To contact a specialist, visit: Smart Office Services.

 

  • Can other meeting applications be installed on the ThinkSmart View Plus?
    • No. The ThinkSmart View Plus is designed for Microsoft Teams displays only. Lenovo recommends not to install any other application.

 

  • Can the ThinkSmart View Plus soundbar be used as a standalone Bluetooth speaker?
    • No. The ThinkSmart View Plus soundbar can be configured as a speaker device when connected to a PC system when the ThinkSmart View Plus is connected using the USB-C cable.

 

  • How to find device settings information?
    • Based on the Microsoft 365 Account Type:
      Microsoft 365 License Type Before Sign in After Sign in
      Personal Sign-in screen → Settings icon Settings icon → Device settings → About
           Sign In
       
      Home screen → User ID → Settings → Device Settings → About
      Shared Room Home screen → Settings → Device Settings → About

       
  • The ThinkSmart View Plus is not working with the ThinkSmart Manager portal (https://portal.thinksmart.lenovo.com) after the device was serviced or repaired.

 

 

Troubleshooting

  • The ThinkSmart View Plus does not power on when the power button is pressed.
    1. Confirm that the device is properly connected to power using the power adapter and power cord.
    2. Confirm that the device power LED is on.

 

  • The camera is not working.
    1. Confirm that the camera is properly connected to the device.
    2. Restart the device by: Go to SettingsDevice settingsReboot device.

 

  • No sound from the soundbar.
    1. Ensure that the device is not muted.
    2. Ensure that the soundbar is properly connected to the device.
    3. Restart the device by: Go to SettingsDevice settingsReboot device.

 

  • Face login does not work.
    1. Confirm that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) features have been followed.
    2. Disconnect and reconnect the camera.
    3. Restart the device by: Go to SettingsDevice settingsReboot device.

 

  • No communications when using the Ethernet RJ45 LAN connection with an Ethernet Cable.
    1. Confirm the device is correctly connected to the RJ45 Ethernet connector using an Ethernet cable.
    2. If necessary and available, try another Ethernet cable.
    3. Review the device network configuration:
      • Go to Settings  → Device settingsNetwork Configuration.
      • Confirm that DHCP is On. If necessary, turn off, and turn on.

 

  • No communications when using Wi-Fi (Wireless).
    1. Enable Wi-Fi by following these steps:
      • Go to Settings  → Device settingsWLAN.
      • Confirm that Use Wi-Fi is on. If necessary, turn off, and turn on.
      • Connect to another Wi-Fi network.
    2. If not resolved, restart the Wi-Fi router.​

 

  • Bluetooth connection does not work
    1. Go to Settings  → Device settingsBluetooth.
    2. If necessary, turn off, and turn on.
    3. Select a different device to pair.

 

  • USB device, mouse or keyboard, does not work
    1. Disconnect and reconnect the USB device.
    2. If necessary, turn off, and turn on.
    3. Try another USB connector.
    4. If the USB device has its own power cord, connect the power cord to a grounded electrical.

 

  • ThinkSmart View Plus does not work in External Display Mode, also known as Peripheral Mode.
    • Peripheral Mode, the ThinkSmart View Plus Two  and the monitor Three can be configured as external displays of your computer One as follows:
      Peripheral Mode
    1. Press the Mode Switch Button and confirm that External Display Mode is selected.
    2. Ensure to use the Lenovo provided USB-C cable for connection. For more details about External Display Mode, review the ThinkSmart View Plus Deployment Guide.

 

  • The ThinkSmart View Plus camera, audio or touch may not properly function when configured in Peripheral mode and using a customer-provided USB-C cable.
    Peripheral Mode
    1. Use the ThinkSmart View Plus Lenovo-provided USB-C cable.
