      Windows 8 does not show activation status

      Symptom

      Windows 8 Preload activation problem: The Product ID is not available, also the error code description is not found. 

       

      Affected configurations

       

      The symptom above may occur to the following systems:

      All Idea Laptops and Desktops with Windows 8

       

      Solution

      Step I:

      1. Open services.msc (Windows Services)

      2. Enable and turn on Software Protection service. Set it startup type to Automatic (Delayed Start), and then error should be fixed immediately.

       

      Step II : If step I fails

      1. Run slui 4 command and use phone activation.

      2. Manually Reset Activation Files. Use the following commands:

      net stop sppsvc
      del %windir%\system32\spp\store\* 
      del %windir%\system32\spp\store\cache\*

      3. Then run slui 3 to enter key and activate.

      Note : Make sure under registry " HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services\sppsvc " the ImagePath sould be "%SystemRoot%\system32\sppsvc.exe" (without quotes). And at the location "C:\Windows\System32" you should have file with the name "sppsvc.exe" (without quotes).
