      The user cannot launch the ThinkVantage System Update program 5.0 after installing the program on a computer with Windows 7 and Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1

      Symptom

      After the user installs System Update 5.0 on a computer with the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system and Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, System Update 5.0 cannot be launched. The program will stop responding during the startup process for about one minute and then automatically exit.

      Affected configurations

      The following systems running on Windows 7 may be affected by this symptom:

      • Lenovo 3000 C100, C200, N100, N200, V100, V200
      • Lenovo 3000 J100, J105, J110, J115, J200, J200p, J205, S200, S200p,S205
      • All ThinkPad
      • All ThinkCentre
      • All ThinkStation
      • Lenovo V/B/K/E Series
      Solution

      Uninstall System Update 5.0. Then, download and install the latest version of System Update from the Lenovo Web site at: http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/detail.page?LegacyDocID=migr-73695
