Note: During installation, sometimes the following dialogs appear because of Windows Security or User Account Control of Vista. Please choose Install, Continue or Allow, and then proceed with the installation.
- "Windows Security - Would you like to install this device software? You should only install drivers software from publishers you trust."
- "Windows Security - Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software."
- "A program needs your permission to continue If you started this program, continue."
- "An unidentified program wants access to your computer Don't run the program unless you know where it's from or you've used it before."
Manual install for Microsoft Windows Vista
- Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, and then click Run.
- Click Browse, click Folders in the lower left pane, and then click Computer in the left pane.
- Select the folder where package is stored.
- Select Setup.exe.
- In the Device Driver Installation Wizard window, click OK.
- The device driver will be installed automatically.
The NetWaiting program installation starts automatically.
- In the "Welcome to..." window, click Next.
- In the "License Agreement" window, read the contents carefully and click Yes.
- In the "Choose Destination Location" window, click Next.
Note: If you need to change the destination, you can change it.
- In the "Select Program Folder" window, click Next.
Note: If you need to change the folder, you can change it.
- When installation is finished, click Finish.
Digital Line Detection program installation starts automatically.
- In the "Welcome to..." window, click Next.
- In the "License Agreement" window, read the contents carefully and click Yes.
- In the "Select Program Folder" window, click Next.

- When the installation is finished, click Finish.
- When the driver installation result is shown, click OK to finish the installation.
- If needed, restart the system.
Manual install for Windows XP and Windows 2000
- Start Windows XP or Windows 2000 and logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, and then click Run.
- Click Browse.
- Select the folder where package is stored.
- Select Setup.exe.
- In the Device Driver Installation Wizard window, click OK.
- The device driver will be installed automatically. If the message, "Digital Signature Not Found" appears, click the OK button to continue installing.
The NetWaiting program installation starts automatically.
- In the "Welcome to..." window, click Next.
- In the "License Agreement" window, read the contents carefully and click Yes.
- In the "Choose Destination Location" window, click Next.
Note: If you need to change the destination, you can change it.

Note: This is for system administrators use only.
- Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, then click All Programs.
- Click Accessories, then click Command Prompt.
- At the command line, execute setup.exe with the '-s' option. (For example, Setup.exe -s)
Manual uninstall for Windows Vista
- Start Windows, and logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Uninstall a program under Programs.
- Right-click ThinkPad Integrated 56K Modem, and then click Uninstall/Change. If User Account Control warning pop-up open, click Continue. Device Driver will be uninstalled automatically.
Uninstallation of the NetWaiting software will start automatically. In the "Confirm Uninstall" window, click OK. NetWaiting will be uninstalled.
Uninstallation of the Digital Line Detect software will start automatically. In the "Confirm Uninstall" window, click OK. The Digital Line Detect software will be uninstalled.
- If needed, restart the system.

- Select ThinkPad Integrated 56K Modem.
- Click the Change/Remove button. Device Driver will be uninstalled automatically.

- Click Query Modem.
- Check the information for ATI3.

- Start Windows XP
- Click Start, click Control Panel, click Performance and Maintenance, and then click System.
- Click the Hardware tab.
- Click the Device Manager button.
- Double-click Modems.
- Double-click ThinkPad Modem.
- Click the Diagnostics tab.
- Click Query Modem.
- Check the information for ATI3.
For Windows 2000
- Start Windows 2000
- Click Start, select Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- Double-click System.
- Click Hardware, and then click Device Manager.
- Double-click Modems.
- Double-click ThinkPad Modem.
- Click the Diagnostics tab.
- Click Query Modem.
- Check the information for ATI3.
Notes:
- To use these functions, you have to use telephone line that has the Call waiting function and the Caller ID function, which each country or region sets independently. And you also have to Connect to an ISP access point that is compatible with these function. Check with your ISP.
- The Modem on Hold (MoH) function has been tested and shown to work in the United States and Canada. It may not work correctly in other countries.
- Fast Connect function works well if you dial to the same phone number from only one place. Otherwise, it is better to disable Fast Connect function.
- To use Modem on hold and Fast Connect function, you have to run Modem on Hold application first and enable each function by following procedure:
- Click Start, select All Programs, select NetWaiting and then click NetWaiting,
- Right click the NetWaiting icon in the task tray and then click Setting.
- Check the Modem on Hold setting and close it.
