The Lenovo Support website supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 10+, Mozilla Firefox 29+, Chrome 34+ and any other modern web browser.

      ThinkPad bluescreens when VGA/analog display is attached


      When attaching an analog VGA display, either a monitor or projector, the system may experience a bluescreen error.


      Affected Configurations

      The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

      • ThinkPad

      Affected systems:

      • T430, T430i, T430s, T430, T530, T530i, W530

      System is configured with:

      • NVIDIA Optimus graphics

      Operating Systems

      • Microsoft Windows 7



      The user should download and install the new Microsoft Windows 7 Optimus video drivers:

      NVIDIA Optimus Display Driver for Windows 7 (64-bit) - ThinkPad
      NVIDIA Optimus Display Driver for Windows 7 (32-bit) - ThinkPad
