Installation instructions
Notes:
  • If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.

Manual Install

  1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive. The default location is C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLANINT
  3. Click Start, then click Run...
  4. Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK. SETUP.EXE is in 'Install' Directory. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLANINT\Install\SETUP.EXE
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  6. Click Finish to reboot the system to complete the installation.
Unattended install
Note: This procedure is intended for system administrators only.
  1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.

  3. Click Start, then click Run...
  4. Specify SETUP.EXE /quiet /norestart with the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2, and click OK. SETUP.EXE is in 'Install' Directory. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLANINT\Install\SETUP.EXE /quiet /norestart
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  6. Reboot the system to complete the installation.
Determining which version is installed
  1. Click Start, then click Control Panel.
  2. Click Performance and Maintenance, then click System.
  3. Click Hardware, then click Device Manager.
  4. Click the + sign in front of the Network adapters.
  5. Double-click Intel(R) WiFi Link 5150.
  6. Click the Driver tab. Then you will see the Driver Version.
