Unsupported Browser Detected

The Lenovo Support website supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 10+, Mozilla Firefox 29+, Chrome 34+ and any other modern web browser.

      CyberLink PowerProducer stops working when closing the download page of the Help file - ThinkCentre, ThinkStation, ThinkPad

      Symptom

      When the user views the first page of the PowerProducer Help file, there is a Web link to the full manual in PDF format.  If the user clicks on this link to download the manual and closes the Help window before the download completes, then PowerProducer crashes.

      Affected configurations

      The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

      • ThinkCentre
      • ThinkStation
      • ThinkPad

      The system is configured with:

      • PowerProducer 5.5

      Applies To:

      • Microsoft Windows 8

      Additional Information:

      This crash is a failure in the Microsoft urlmon.dll provided with Microsoft Windows 8.  It is one of a general class of errors in Microsoft Windows 8 associated with Internet Explorer tools used by external programs.  Microsoft will not resolve this issue.

      Solution

      None

      Limitations

      This is a limitation of Microsoft Windows 8.

      Workaround

      The user should not close the Help window while the file is downloading.
