Upgrading the Lenovo Fingerprint Software makes the single sign-on feature work abnormally - All ThinkPad the Lenovo Fingerprint Software.


When upgrading the Lenovo® Fingerprint Software from version 3.2.116 or earlier to the latest, the user has to swipe the fingerprint twice for both the power-on password and the Windows login password.

Affected configurations

All ThinkPad® computers with the Microsoft® Windows® XP operating system and the Lenovo Fingerprint Software or earlier installed.


To recover the single sign-on feature, do the following:

  1. From the Windows desktop, click Start ->Run.
  2. In the Open field, type c:\windows\system32\ATupdatePBA.exe.
  3. Click OK.
