Installation instructions

Note: If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.

Manual Install

This section assumes to use Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.

[Downloading file]

  1. Click once on the underlined file name. Once this is done, some pop-up windows will appear.
  2. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  3. In the window to choose Run or Save, click the Save button.
  4. Choose the folder you would like to download the file to and click the Save button. A different window will appear and the download will begin and complete. Once the download has completed, there may or may not be a message stating that the download completed successfully.

[Extracting file]

  1. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges on the target computer.
  2. Locate the folder where the file was downloaded.
  3. Locate the file that was downloaded and double-click it.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  5. In the Select Destination Location window, click Next. If you would like to select a different folder, click Browse.
  6. In the Ready to Install window, click Install. All the necessary files will be extracted to the folder selected in Extracting File Step 5.

[Installing files]

  1. Make sure the checkbox next to Install ..... now is checked and click Finish.
  2. Follow the instructions on the screen to complete installation and restart the computer.
  3. At the Select Installation Option screen, click Install.
  4. At the Installer Welcome screen, click Express.
  5. Click Finish to complete installation and restart the computer.

Finally delete the file saved in Downloading File Step 4.


Unattended install instructions
Note: This is for system administrators' use only.
  1. Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and extract the file.
  2. In Step 1 of the Installing files section, uncheck the checkbox next to Install ..... now, and then click Finish to cancel installation.
  3. At the command line, execute setup.exe with the -install options. Example: [Path where the files were extracted]\setup -install
Uninstallation instructions

Manual Uninstall

  1. Make sure to be logged on with administrative privileges.
  2. Open Control Panel.
  3. Select ATI Catalyst Install Manager and double click it.
  4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  5. Click Next button to open Catalyst Install Manager window.
  6. In the Catalyst Install Manager window, select Express Uninstall All ATI Software.
  7. Click Next button to continue and finish the uninstallation.
  8. Click Remove button to remove ATI Catalyst Install Manager.
  9. Click Finish button to restart Windows.

Manual Unattended Uninstall This is for system administrators' use only.

  1. Refer to the Manual Install section, and download and extract the file.
  2. In step 1 of the Installing files section, uncheck the checkbox next to "Install ..... now", and then click Finish to cancel installation.
  3. At the command line, execute \[bin/bin64]\ATISETUP.EXE with the -uninstall options.
    • Example:
      • (Windows 7 32-bit) [Path where the files were extracted]\bin\ATISETUP.exe -uninstall
      • (Windows 7 64-bit) [Path where the files were extracted]\bin64\ATISETUP.exe -uninstall

Determining which version is installed
  1. Right-click anywhere on an open area of the Windows desktop, then select Catalyst(TM) Control Center.
  2. If the Catalyst Control Center is opened for the first time, a window will open asking to choose between Basic or Advanced. Select Advanced and click Next.
  3. Catalyst Control Center Notification window will open, then click Yes.
  4. Catalyst Control Center Advanced window will open. In the Graphics menu, select Information Center then Graphics Software.
  5. In the Graphics Software pane, Driver Packaging Version is displayed. Check if the correct version is installed.
