How to Adjust Screen Brightness - ThinkCentre, ThinkPad, ThinkServer, ThinkStation

Affected configurations

The above symptom is associated with, but not limited to, the following systems:

  • ThinkCentre, ThinkPad, ThinkServer, ThinkStation

Applies To:

  • All Operating Systems
Solution 1: Short cut Key
  1. Press Fn + Home(increase brightness)/End (decrees brightness):
    Fn Key
  2. “Brightness” bar will appear on screen as shown  below:


Solution 2: Manual Setting
  • Go to Windows start button.
  • Type “screen brightness” in “Search programs and files” box as circled below:
  • Choose “Adjust screen brightness”.
  • A pop-up screen will appear and there will be a “Screen brightness” bar at the bottom of the pop-up :
  • Adjust screen brightness accordingly:

Note: Some ThinkPad LCDs will automatically dim when the AC Power is unplugged. This is to save battery power and is normal.
