Note: UAA High Definition Audio Class Driver provided by Microsoft should be installed before installing this package on Windows XP. Windows Vista: - Start Windows Vista and logon with administrative privileges.
- Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
The default location is C:\DRIVERS\HDAMODEM. - Click Start, select All Programs, select Accessories, then click Run...
- Specify SETUP.EXE with the full path name where you extracted the package in the step 2, and click OK.
Example: C:\DRIVERS\HDAMODEM\SETUP.EXE - In the Device Driver Installation Wizard window, click OK. The NetWaiting program installation starts automatically.
- In the "Welcome to..." window, click Next.
- In the "License Agreement" window, read the contents carefully and click Yes.
- In the "Choose Destination Location" window, click Next.
Note: If you need to change the destination, you can change it. - In the "Select Program Folder" window, click Next.

- Digital Line Detection program installation starts automatically.
- In the "Welcome to..." window, click Next.
- In the "License Agreement" window, read the contents carefully and click Yes.

- During installation, the following dialogs may appear because of the User Account Control in Windows Vista. Click Continue or Allow to proceed with the installation.

- The NetWaiting software uninstall will start automatically. In the "Confirm Uninstall" window, click OK.
- The Digital Line Detect software uninstall will start automatically. In the "Confirm Uninstall" window, click OK.
- If needed, restart the system.
Windows XP: - Start Windows.
- Logon with administrative privileges.
- Click Start, select Control Panel, then select Add/Remove Programs.
- Select HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with Smart CP.
- Click the Change/Remove button. The device driver will be uninstalled automatically.
- The NetWaiting software uninstall will start automatically. In the "Confirm Uninstall" window, click OK.
- The Digital Line Detect software uninstall will start automatically. In the "Confirm Uninstall" window, click OK.
- If needed, restart the system.
Windows Vista: - Start Windows Vista.
- Click Start, then click Control Panel, click System and Maintenance, then click System.
- Click Device Manager in Tasks. If User Account Control warning dialog appears, click Continue.
- Double-click Modems.
- Double-click HDAUDIO Soft Data Fax Modem with Smart CP.
- Click the Diagnostics tab.
- Click the Query Modem button.
- Check the information for ATI3.
For Windows XP - Start Windows XP.
- Right-click My Computer, then select Properties.
- Click the Hardware tab, then select Device Manager.
- Double-click Modems.
- Double-click ThinkPad Modem.
- Click the Diagnostics tab.
- Click Query Modem button.
- Check the information for ATI3.
