Solution

When switched to Airplane Mode, the power state is automatically changed to DC mode (battery), even when the AC adapter is attached. This action prevents an over current condition on the airplane’s seat outlet by 135W or higher Slim-Tip AC adapters which could trip the seat's circuit breaker.

When in Airplane Mode, the user will notice the system’s main battery does not charge.

Additional Information

It is important to note that users should not attempt to plug 135W or higher Slim-Tip AC adapters into an outlet on an airplane because they risk tripping the circuit breaker in the seat and disabling the outlet.
