Wireless LAN Card Replacement - ThinkCentre M73, M72e Tiny Desktop


  1. Remove the screw in the back of the system.
  2. Slide the cover forward and remove it.
  3. Disconnect the hard drive cable from the hard drive.
  4. Disconnect the cable from the system board.
  5. Disconnect the front antenna cable from the wireless LAN card.
  6. Remove two screws.
  7. Slide the hard drive and lift it from the posts.
  8. We want to pull the antenna from the cable guides until it is loose and then use a spudger or non-metallic pry tool to pry the antenna up from the bracket.
  9. Unscrew the rear antenna from the coaxial connector.
  10. Disconnect the rear antenna cable form the wireless LAN card.
  11. Use a spudger or non-metallic pry tool to pry the card up off of the post.
  12. Pull the card from the slot.
  13. Here we have our new Wireless LAN card to place in the system.
  14. Install the wireless LAN card into the slot, but make sure you align the notch in the card with the tab in the slot.
  15. Press the card in, and press it down until it snaps on the post.
  16. Connect the rear antenna cable to the wireless LAN card.
  17. Screw the rear antenna onto the coaxial connector.
  18. Here we have our new antenna.
  19. We want to place the antenna on the bracket using the little tabs that go in the holes. 
  20. Press down to stick it with the adhesive backing.
  21. Now we want to take the antenna cable and pull it through the cable guides.
  22. Lower the drive assembly over the posts, and slide back to align the screw holes.
  23. Install two screws.
  24. Connect the front antenna cable to the wireless LAN card.
  25. Connect the hard drive cable to the system board.
  26. Connect the hard drive cable to the hard drive.
  27. Place the cover over the system and slide it back.
  28. Install the screw into the back of the system.
