Installation and removal instructions
  1. Start Windows and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
    The default location is C:\DRIVERS\AHCI
  3. Copy all filles in the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2, to a Floppy disk. Then begin the Windows XP installation.
  4. At the beginning of the operating system installation, press F6 to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver.
  5. When prompted, select 'S' to Specify Additional Device.
  6. When prompted, insert the diskette you created in step 1 and press Enter.
  7. At this point you should be presented with a selection, highlight "Intel(R) ICH8M SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH8M)" and press Enter.
  8. Press Enter again to continue. Leave the diskette in the system until the next reboot as the software will need to be copied from the diskette again when setup is copying files.
