Description

Lenovo XClarity Essentials Bootable Media Creator (commonly referred to as BoMC) can be used to create bootable media suitable for various tasks including system firmware updates, VPD updates, inventory and FFDC collection, advanced system configuration, FoD Keys management, secure erase, RAID configuration, and diagnostics on supported ThinkSystem, System x, BladeCenter systems, and storage platforms. This tip demonstrates the procedure of creating BoMC bootable media, mounting it via remote console, and updating system firmware.

Limitations

  • BoMC does not have 32-bit version available for Windows. You can only run this tool on a 64-bit Windows OS.
  • BoMC cannot be executed on Windows Preinstallation Environment (WinPE).
