Installation instructions

Note: If your computer runs satisfactorily now, it may not be necessary to update the software. To determine if you should update the software, refer to the Version Information section.

Manual Install

  1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
  3. Click Start, then click Run...
  4. Specify "SETUP.EXE" with the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2, and click OK. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLAN\"this filename"\SETUP.EXE
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Unattended Install
Note: This is for system administrators use only.
  1. Start Windows XP and logon with administrative privileges.
  2. Double-click the driver package to extract it to your hard drive.
  3. Click Start, then click Run...
  4. Specify "SETUP.EXE /s " with the full path name where you extracted the package in step 2, and click OK. Example: C:\DRIVERS\WIN\WLAN\"this filename"\SETUP.EXE /s
  5. Follow the instructions on the screen.
Determining which version is installed
  1. Start Windows XP.
  2. Click Start and then click Control Panel.
  3. Click the Performance and Maintenance.
  4. Click the System icon.
  5. Click the Hardware tab.
  6. Click the Device Manager button.
  7. Double-click the Network adapters section.
  8. Select Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter.
  9. Right-click Broadcom 802.11g Network Adapter, and select Properties.
  10. Click the Driver tab. The version number will be displayed.
