Using Presentation Director to avoid common problems with projectors.

      Affected configurations

      Installation is simple but versatile.

      • Version 2.02 (or later) of Presentation Director package now includes the ThinkPad Power Management Driver V1.21 (or later) and ThinkPad On Screen Display V3.00 (or later). You will be prompted to install these, if necessary, during the initial setup.
      • You may view the version of all Presentation Director software at any time by running setup again.
      • Presentation Director is always available from an icon on the system tray.
      • You can choose from the default settings immediately after installation from the pop-up menu, or customize one that best matches the projector you plan to use.
      • To create a customized presentation scheme:
        1. Select "Manage Presentation Director Settings" from the menu and then select "New Scheme. . .".
        2. The Presentation Director Wizard will then walk you through the process and allow you to verify that the settings will produce a presentation that works on the ThinkPad system's LCD and the projector, a television, or a flat-panel display.
        3. After you have chosen the Resolution, Color Quality, and Refresh Rate, press "Test" to check the image. Two pairs of red arrows will move to the edges of the screen horizontally, then vertically, to insure the entire image is displayed.
        4. It is recommended that power management is disabled during presentations, but the next screen gives you the choice.
        5. The next screen allows you to automatically begin a presentation when the scheme is selected. When you save the scheme at the final screen, it will be available from the systray icon.
