- To remove the front cover, we must first remove two thumb screws.
- Then we’re going to press down on the release button, slide the cover towards the rear of the system and remove it.
- Then we are going to pull outward on the three retaining clips to release the bezel.
- And then we are going to swing the front bezel open like a door and remove it.
- Before removing the wireless LAN card, we need to first remove the rear antenna.
- Now we are going to disconnect the front antenna cable from the wireless card.
- Now we are going to twist the cable guide to unlock it and remove the antenna cable.
- Now we are going to use a non-metallic pry tool to peel the front antenna from its adhesive backing.
- Then we are going to thread the antenna cable through the hole in the chassis and remove it.
- Then we are going to press the blue release button to release the latch.
- Now we are going to reach in, pull the card out of the slot, and then remove it from the system.
- Now we are going to disconnect the rear antenna cable and remove two retaining screws.
- Then remove the wireless LAN card from the socket.
- And here we have our replacement wireless LAN card.
- Now we are going to place the card into the socket, press down, and install two retaining screws.
- Now we are going to align the rear antenna connector to the main terminal and snap the connector on like a button.
- Now we are going to place the card into the chassis, align it with the slot, and then press down until it is fully seated.
- Then we are going to close the release latch until it snaps.
- Here we have our replacement front wireless antenna.
- Now we are going to thread the front antenna cable through the hole in the chassis. Reach in and pull it back through, through the inside.
- Then we are going to use the adhesive backing to stick the front antenna to the chassis.
- Next we are going to install the antenna cable into the guide and twist it shut.
- Now we are going to connect the front antenna cable. To do this you just align the connector with the terminal and then snap the cable over the top of it like a button.
- And install the rear antenna cable.
- When replacing the front bezel, we want to ensure that the hinges on the bezel are aligned with the holes in the chassis.
- And then we are going to place the bezel on and close it like a door.
- Then we are going to press inward on the bezel to snap the three clips back into place.
- When replacing the front cover, we want to ensure that the tabs on the cover align with the slots on the chassis. Then we are going to place the cover onto the chassis and slide it forward to the front of the system.
- Then we are going to replace two thumb screws.
