The following ThinkPad models are supported: Notes:
- *1 Supports Windows 95/98/NT 4.0 only
- *2 Supports Windows 98/Me only

- *5 Supports Windows 98/NT 4.0 only
- *6 TrackPoint only model is supported. Please do not install this driver to the UltraNav model.
- *7 Supports Windows 98/98 SE/NT 4.0. Windows Me is supported only on the following T30 models: 2366/2367-x1x, x2x, x3x, x4x, x5x, A6x and A7x except for M1x, M2x, M3x, M4x and M5x.
- *8: Supports Windows 98SE only.
- *9: Supports Windows NT 4.0 only.
- *10: Supports Windows NT 4.0 only.

- Start Windows 95/98/Me or NT 4.0.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- Click the Install/Uninstall tab at the top of the Add/Remove Programs Properties window.
- Click IBM TrackPoint Support in the list.
- Click the Add/Remove... button.
- Restart Windows.
Note: Before installing this driver, you must uninstall the current program.
- Start Windows Me.
- Extract the driver onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the System icon.
- Click the Device Manager tab at the top of the System Properties window.
- Double-click Mouse .
- Double-click either PS/2 Compatible Mouse Port or PS/2 TrackPoint whichever choice appears in the list.
- Click the Driver tab.
- Click the Update Driver button. The Update Device Driver Wizard runs.
- Click Specify the location of the driver (Advanced).
- Click Next.
- Click Display a list of all drivers in a specific location, so you can select the driver you want.
- Click Next.
- Click Have Disk .
- Specify the directory where the driver files are extracted. Then click the OK button. Then driver list appears.
- Click IBM PS/2 TrackPoint in the list.
- Click Next.
- Click Finish in the Update Device Driver Wizard window.
- Close the IBM PS/2 TrackPoint Properties window.
- Close the System Properties window.
- Restart your computer to make the new settings active.

- Start Windows 98
- Extract the driver onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel .
- Double-click the System icon.
- Click the Device Manager tab at the top of the System Properties window.

- Extract the drivers onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start, select Settings, then click Control Panel.
- Double-click the Mouse icon.
- Click the General tab.
- Click Change.
- Click Have Disk.
- Specify the directory where the driver files are extracted. Then click OK, the driver list will appear.
- Select PS/2 TrackPoint in the list.
- Click OK.
- Click Close in the Mouse Properties window.
- If running Windows NT, go to Devices in Control Panel. If the i8042 Keyboard and PS/2 Mouse Port has been disabled, change it back to System. Failure to do this will cause the TrackPoint and keyboard not to function after rebooting.
- Restart your computer to make the new settings active.
Note: Scrolling function is not supported for Microsoft Word 97 on Windows NT.
- Start Windows NT 4.0, logon with administrative privileges.
- Extract this package onto the hard disk drive.
- Click Start and then click Run.
- Type one of the following command lines and click OK:
- System will not reboot automatically
C:\DRIVERS\WIN\TPOINT\setupnt4.exe -sn
- System will reboot automatically
C:\DRIVERS\WIN\TPOINT\setupnt4.exe -s
Windows Me
- Start Windows Me.
- Click Start, select Search, then click Files or Folders.
- In the Search for files or folders named: field, type TRACK.VXD.
- In the Look in: field, specify Local Disk (C:).
- Click the Search Now button. Windows will now search your hard disk drive for track.vxd. If the file is not found, then the TrackPoint driver is not installed on your system.
- Scroll the window to the right and look at the Modified column. The time stamp on TRACK.VXD file will be the version number. For example, the time stamp should be 03:12a if version 3.12 is installed
Windows 95/98
- Start Windows 95/98.
- Click Start, select Find, then click Files or Folders.
- Click the Name & Location tab.
- In the Named: field, enter one of the following based on your operating system: Windows 95/98 users type TRACK.VXD.
- In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D: ).
- Click Find Now. Windows will now search your hard disk drive for the file entered in step 4. If the file is not found, then the TrackPoint driver is not installed on your system.
- Scroll the window to the right and look at the Modified column. The time stamp on TRACK.VXD file will be the version number. For example, the time stamp should be 03:12a if version 3.12 is installed
Windows NT 4.0
- Start Windows NT.
- Click Start, select Search, and click For Files or Folders.
- Click the Name & Location tab.
- In the Named: field, type TWOTRACK.SYS.
- In the Look in: field, specify Local Hard drives (C:,D:).
- Click Find Now. Windows will now search your hard disk drive for twotrack.sys. If the file is not found, then the TrackPoint driver is not installed on your system.
- In the Found part of the window, select the twotrack.sys file located in C:\WINNT\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS or C:\WINNT40\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS.
- Scroll the window to the right and look at the Modified column. The time stamp on TWOTRACK.SYS file will be the version number. For example, the time stamp should be 03:12a if version 3.12 is installed
