Dock Display Issue general guidance:

  1. Make sure the following driver and firmware are up to date according to Lenovo web support.
    • BIOS
    • Intel Thunderbolt driver
    • Intel Thunderbolt firmware
    • Intel Video driver
    • Nvidia Video driver (for discrete GFX models)
    • Intel ME firmware
    • Dock firmware and driver
  2. Check the dock video output matrix to ensure multiple display setup is supported: https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/solutions/pd029622
  3. Go to Windows Display Property and check if external monitors are configured to the manufacture recommended resolutions.
  4. Make sure to use original Lenovo AC adapter and cables in the dock's brown box to connect the dock and system.
  5. For Thunderbolt docks, make sure Intel Thunderbolt software is running. Click the software icon in Taskbar to make sure the dock is connected.

Dock USB Issue general guidance:

  1. Make sure the following items are up to date according to the Lenovo website support.
    • BIOS
    • Intel Thunderbolt driver
    • Intel Thunderbolt firmware
    • Intel ME firmware
    • Dock firmware and driver

  2. If experiencing USB issues in pre-operating system environment, try the following BIOS settings. For information about accessing the BIOS, see Recommended ways to enter BIOS - ThinkPad, ThinkCentre, ThinkStation.

    Recommended Thunderbolt Setting in BIOS:

    • Thunderbolt BIOS Assist mode: Disabled
    • Security level: User Authorization
    • Support in Pre--Boot environment: Pre-Boot ACL

  3. For Thunderbolt docks, check and make sure the Intel Thunderbolt software is running. Click the software icon in the Taskbar to make sure the dock is connected.
